Olga Maraba

Violin, Viola and Music Theory
Starting music at the age of 12 in Soweto, I studied violin and viola under Kolwane Mantu in Diepkloof. By 20, I began performing professionally and completed all violin grades before earning ATCL and LTCL qualifications for both instruments through Trinity College London. To refine my teaching skills, I trained under ESTA for individual instruction and completed the Colour Strings program from the UK, specializing in foundational teaching methods for young children. Over the years, I have taught at various schools in Johannesburg, sharing my passion and expertise with aspiring musicians. As a performer, I have played with prestigious ensembles, including the English Chamber Orchestra (ECO), Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO), Johannesburg Festival Orchestra (JFO), Johannesburg Music Initiative (JMI), KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra (KZNPO), Mzansi National Philharmonic Orchestra (MNPO), and Phoenix Co Orchestra. nMy journey reflects a lifelong dedication to music, both on stage and in the classroom.
